Yes, all of our products are gluten free. The sorghum, millet, and sweet potato flours are all certified gluten free. All the other ingredients that we use are naturally gluten free, and to the best of our knowledge are not made or packaged in facilities with gluten containing products.
Do you use nightshades?
As much as possible we avoid nightshades – potato, tomato, eggplant, etc. If for some reason we add it onto a product, it would be clearly stated on the ingredients list. The most common nightshade we would use would be tomatoes.
Are your products all nut free?
Technically speaking, because we do use coconut in various forms in some of our products, we are not completely nut-free according to the FDA definition. The more trusted allergy communities however, such as FAAN, ACAAI, do not recognize coconut as a tree nut like the FDA does. According to the ACAAI, although allergic reactions to coconut have been documented, those allergic to tree nuts and peanut can generally safely consume coconut.

Do use corn in your products?
We do not knowingly use corn or any of its derivatives in our products. While not one of the top eight food allergens, many people have sensitivities to corn and most of the corn grown in the USA is genetically engineered, which we avoid.
Do you use GMO’s?
It is our policy to be GMO/GE free. All of the organic ingredients we use by definition are GMO/GE free. For the ingredients that we cannot source organic, we have been assured by the suppliers that they are not from genetically engineered crops.
Are all of your ingredients organic?
No. If we can source an ingredient as organic then that is what we buy. However, two of the flours in our blend are not yet made organically worldwide. These include white sweet potato flour and mung bean starch. We also occasionally use different millet flour varieties than the common millet found in stores. Although unavailable as organic, these other millets are GMO free.
Where can your products be found? How do we buy them?
Right now our products are only available by order, unless you happen to live in the Seattle area and attend one of the First Thursday Art Walks or other events where we might have a booth. To find out about where we might be selling at an event, subscribe to our newsletter or visit the events page of the website.
Why are your prices so high?
We make specialty, artisanal, products using premium, mostly organic ingredients that cost much more than the ingredients used to make similar products. Our products don’t just taste good though, they are better for you than other choices in the same categories. We make our treats with the best possible ingredients and we think you are worth it!
Why don’t you use rice, corn, and potato like other gluten free products?
The recipes and formulas used in our products were developed without rice flours for the simple reason that rice, corn and potato were allergens in our household. Having to avoid these ingredients led to the discovery of other delicious gluten free grains and flours that are superfoods and that we feel are more nutritious and delicious than most rice, corn and potato flours.
Do you cater/do weddings?
It depends on what a client wants, how much, and where the client is located. Right now we can only accommodate parties of less than 100 people within the greater Seattle area. Many of the cookies and pastries can be made into catering platters priced per person, with a 10 person minimum. For special occasion cakes we can make a variety of sizes however, due to our ingredient restrictions cakes are made in traditional shapes with simple and natural frosting and decorations. Please call if you would like to request catering and we can discuss your needs.
